text & bytes replaced the existing user interface for Digital Bodleian, the digital library for Oxford's colleges and the Bodleian Libraries, with an interactive search and browse application and an object viewer that offer effective and intuitive searching and browsing of digitized special collections, providing an attractive, compelling public face to almost a million images of rare books, manuscripts, and other cultural treasures. Open Source Publishing Platform Online Commentary. First non-profit platform for open access commentaries in Switzerland. As a digital, free legal commentary, it offers for the first time easy, convenient and low-threshold access to high-quality legal commentaries for all. In collaboration with Herrmann Germann.

Digital edition, recipe database, materials database, catalog raisonné, interactive map with itinerary, and publication of research texts and analyses with art historical and art technological discussions on the travel and recipe book of the reverse glass painter and glazier Ulrich Daniel Metzger (*1671). Website and Content Management System for the project "CORE – Coproduced Religions". Co-production refers to the ongoing interaction between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. This project aims to develop a new history of these interdependent religions as co-produced communities. The project involves collaborators across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The IIIF Manifest Editor is an open source web application that generates IIIF manifests. It allows you to import, view, update and export images and metadata via drag & drop using the IIIF APIs.

e-chartae is the virtual charter portal of the St. Gallen Abbey Archive, the only preserved Monastery Archive of the early Middle Ages.

Programming and design of the digital manuscript library e-codices – Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland. Multilingual web application with PHP/MySQL, Solr and IIIF support. Over 2700 digitized medieval manuscripts from over 90 collections in high-resolution. Featured in the New York Times.

Ad Fontes is an award-winning e-learning platform of the University of Zurich for working with historical sources. text & bytes redesigned and rebuilt the application from the ground up in collaboration with KLIK! Klein Informatik and Herrmann Germann.

The volumes of the "Library of the Church Fathers" (BKV) have been out of print for many years and are difficult to find in libraries. The digital library implemented by text & bytes gives access to all the volumes as a series of digital editions, fully searchable and downloadable.

Fragmentarium is a laboratory for manuscript fragments. Using open standards like IIIF and TEI, text & bytes built the web application which allows researchers from around the world to catalogue, describe, transcribe and assemble dispersed manuscript fragments. An online catalogue (work in progress) of the more than 300 manuscripts containing the Latin translations of the works of Flavius Josephus enabling the user to understand how his texts were read, transformed, and embedded in medieval Latin culture. It is part of an interdisciplinary project at the University of Bern on the reception of Josephus in medieval Latin Europe, a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
